Baptists

Baptists
Baptists are Christians whose origin dates back to the early sixteenth century and are so called because they insist on Baptism by immersion. They reject infant Baptism and baptize only those adults who voluntarily make a personalprofession of faith. Baptists also insist on the personal interpretation of the Scriptures and the autonomy of the local church;as a result, there are many different groups of Baptists.
